CPA Minutes 8-17-11
TOWN OF HANSON
COMMUNITY PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
Meeting Minutes – August 17, 2011

Members Present:
Bill Strait, Bob Sears, Laura Fitzgerald-Kemmett, John Kemmett, Allan Clemons and Patty Norton
Absent:
William Clay, David Harris and representative from Planning Board
Guests Present:
None
Chair Report:
Ms. Ferguson of the Planning Board stated to Laura that they will meet on 08/29 and on the agenda is a replacement for CPC committee.

Margaret has resigned.  Laura will obtain her key for the filing cabinet.  Laura will meet with Rene for follow-up replacement

Meg has confirmed our $$'s in each account but Laura will obtain the paperwork for us to look over at our next meeting.

Al Hanscom bills for Camp Kiwanee are now all paid.  But, we have questions for the Rec. Committee as to “Where are they going now?”  Laura e-mailed Dave Blauss to meet with them at their next meeting on 08/25/11.

Laura had quite a run-around with Cindy Long and the bills to be paid.  If the bill is for a town department, then the department will obtain all information for their bills and Laura will just sign off for them to be paid.  Now Laura had to obtain all the correct paperwork before she signs off on payment.

Per Allan Clemons, the Bonney House chimney is finished and looks good.  The bill is ready to be presented to accounting.

Thomas Mill and its appearance came up.  John Kemmett will speak to conservation committee about the Thomas Mill.  A motion was made by Bill Strait and seconded by Allan Clemons that Laura should write letters to Conservation Commission, Thomas Mill Committee, and Friends of Thomas Mill and to Hanson Historical Commission about the appearance and up keep of the mill area.  Vote approved 6-0-0.

“What do we do if an article is funded by CPC and the appearance goes down in the future?”  Any suggestions?

Motion made by Patty Norton and seconded by Allan Clemons to accept the minutes of our last meeting 07/20/11 with the correction of two names Bill Strait and Allan Clemons.  Vote approved 5-0-1.

Next meeting we will talk about our time line.  Bring all of your ideas on the matter with you.

Per Bob Sears, the Hanson Housing appointed a new director, Karen Riley, who lives in Taunton and has been active with Rockland Housing for quite a while.  Karen started 08/16/11.  Teresa Santa Louchia is still working on the Plymouth County Hospital property and going strong.  Brownfield monies might be available again for that but not sure.  The state has been down to talk to the Housing Authority on multiple items.

Adjournment:
Bob Sears had to leave for an emergency but a motion was made by Patty Norton and seconded by Allan Clemons to adjourn meeting at 8:05 pm.  Vote approved 5-0.
